What We Offer
We provide a wide range of paediatric OT services for children and teenagers aged 4–18, delivered with warmth, expertise, and a genuine commitment to each child's progress.
Developing hand strength, dexterity, and coordination for tasks like writing, cutting, drawing, and using utensils. We use targeted activities and play-based exercises to build the foundations children need for school and daily life.
Supporting children who are over- or under-sensitive to sensory input — touch, sound, movement, taste, and more. We help families understand their child's sensory profile and develop strategies to improve comfort and participation.
Addressing letter formation, pencil grip, writing speed, and legibility. We also support broader classroom skills including organisation, attention, and task completion to help children thrive at school.
Building skills for dressing, feeding, grooming, toileting, and other everyday routines. We work with children and families to develop practical strategies that promote independence at home and in the community.
Helping children and teenagers identify, understand, and manage their emotions. We use evidence-based frameworks to build self-awareness, coping strategies, and resilience for school, home, and social settings.
Supporting the development of play skills, turn-taking, friendship-building, and group interactions. We work with children to build confidence and the social tools they need to connect with peers.
Improving balance, body awareness, coordination, and physical confidence. We address challenges with sport, playground activities, and physical education through fun, movement-based sessions.
The Process
From your first enquiry through to ongoing therapy, here is what to expect when working with Small Steps Care.
Get in touch by email to share a little about your child and what you are hoping to work on. We will respond within 1–2 business days.
We begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand your child's strengths, challenges, and goals. This includes a parent/carer interview and observation of your child.
We work with you to identify meaningful, achievable goals that reflect what matters most to your child and family. Goals are reviewed regularly as your child progresses.
Regular sessions are tailored to your child's goals using play-based, evidence-informed approaches. We also provide home strategies so progress continues between sessions.
That is completely okay. Reach out and we will help you figure out the best path forward for your child.
